Piedmont-Oakland Death Notices

Georgianne Jaqua: A resident of Citrus Heights, Jaqua was a graduate of Piedmont High School and the University of Oregon. She taught kindergarten in the 1960s and was a full-time mother in the decades that followed. Jaqua passed away on July 3 at the age of 83.

Lili Artel: A resident of Oakland, Artel lived in San Lorenzo and Hayward with her husband while raising their children. In the 1970s, she became a sculptor and collage artist. She was also active in writing groups. Artel passed away on June 5 at the age of 94.

Hubert Paul Athayde: A resident of Cameron Park, California, Athayde was raised in Oakland. He worked for Pacific Bell for 38 years. Athayde passed away on June 11 at the age of 90.
