Police Release Photo of Lakeshore Bank Robbery Suspect

The Oakland Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who attempted to rob the Bank of the West branch at 3400 Lakeshore Ave.

Oakland police are asking for help from the public in identifying a man who attempted to rob the at 3400 Lakeshore Ave., Oakland at 1:39 p.m. on March 20.

The same man attempted to rob another Bank of the West branch, this one at 2127 Broadway, Oakland, at 3:19 p.m. the same day, police said.

During both robbery attempts the suspect entered the bank and approached the teller demanding money, but left the bank before obtaining any money, police said.

The suspect is described as an African-American male, 20 to 25 years of age with a medium complexion, 5’8” to 5’10”, approximately 155-175 pounds, with a goatee and black hair styled in long dreadlocks, and a goatee. He was wearing a black baseball-style hat, black shirt with white buttons, blue jeans and black tennis shoes. No weapon was seen, police said.

The Oakland Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $4,000 for information leading to the arrest in this case.
