Firefighters Battle 1-Alarm Fire at Merritt Restaurant and Bakery
The fire was reported about 2;45 a.m. this morning.

Firefighters battled a one-alarm fire at a bakery near Lake Merritt in Oakland this morning, according to fire officials.
At about 2:45 a.m. fire officials received a report of a fire at Merritt Restaurant and Bakery, at 203 E. 18th St., near Athol Plaza, fire officials said. The fire was brought under control by firefighters at about 3:35 a.m., fire officials said.
