Oakland Police Invite Public to Meeting on Piedmont Avenue & Temescal Robberies

The community meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening at Oakland Technical High School.

The Oakland Police Department and Oakland City Councilmember Dan Kalb are inviting community members to a meeting about recent increases in armed robberies and other major crimes in the Piedmont Avenue and Temescal neigborhoods.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Oakland Technical High School, 4351 Broadway, Oakland.

The meeting will provide a chance for members of the public to talk with Oakland officials and community leaders about implementing safety measures in the immediate Temescal and Piedmont Avenue areas and the city as a whole, according to an OPD announcement.

Kalb, Oakland Assistant Chief of Police Paul Figueroa, Police Area 2 Lieutenant of Police Lt. Chris Bolton of the OPD's Area 2 and representatives from the Temescal and Piedmont Ave. Neighborhood Crime Prevention Councils (NCPC), Piedmont Avenue Merchants Association (PAMA), Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District (BID) and Piedmont Avenue Neighborhood Improvement League (PANIL) will attend.
