City Adminstrator Geoffrey Grote to Retire in February

Grote will retire after 25 years as the city's top manager.

City Administrator Geoffrey Grote publicly announced at Monday's Piedmont City Council meeting that he will retire in February of 2014.

Grote will have served as the city's top managerial employee for 25 years by the time of his retirement on Feb. 7.

He said he will provide suggestions on searching for a successor at the council's Aug. 19 meeting.
