Council to Adopt City Budget, New Tax Rates Tonight
A public hearing during tonight's meeting is the last chance for the public to weigh in on the proposed city budget.
The Piedmont City Council will adopt a city budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year and new rates for the municipal services tax and municipal sewer tax tonight after a second (and final) public hearing on the three items.
Proposed municipal services tax rates remain the same as the current year, while the sewer tax is scheduled to increase slightly — by $10 to $19 per parcel for single family residences, depending on the size of the property, and by $19 to $26 for commercial properties, again depending on size.
Information on the city budget for the coming fiscal year is available on the City of Piedmont's budget webpage here. (For a quick overview, see "Piedmont City Budget: The Good, the Not-So-Bad and the Ugly.") The proposed municipal service tax rates are here and the sewer tax rates here.
The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers, 120 Vista Ave. The complete agenda and related staff reports are available here.
