Water Main Break Closes Oakland Avenue

A break in a 12-inch water main on Oakland Avenue Sunday night had repair crews working into the ealry morning hours

A break in a 12-inch water main on Oakland Avenue between Sunnyside and Olive avenues Sunday night closed the street and brought out heavy equipment and repair crews. Workers were still on the scene at midnight.

A sewer line reportedly also needed repair because of its close proximity to the broken water main.

Maintenance Supervisor Dave Frankel and off-duty maintenance workers from Piedmont's Public Works Department (including Angelo Espinosa) were among those reponding.

Thank you to Piedmont resident Rick Schiller for photos and on-the-spot information.

My daughter was a camp counselor at this camp last summer. It is a really unique camp. What aRead More great experience for kids. I wish something like this was available when my kids were young. Parents should definitely check it out!!
