Firefighters' Weekend at Fentons Creamery — Climb Aboard a Fire Engine, Kids!

It's the perfect time to indulge your sweet tooth. A portion of the proceeds from each Rocky Road Sundae sold goes to the Oakland Firefighters Random Acts charitable program.

It's the annual Firefighters Weekend at Fentons Creamery, 4226 Piedmont Ave., Oakland  — a chance for children to climb aboard a classic 1967 fire engine and for everyone to contribute to the Oakland Firefighters Random Acts charity.

Stop by between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16 and 17, to visit the fire truck and see Oakland firefighters hard at work busing tables, pouring coffee and scooping ice cream.

At 3 p.m. each day, there's a firefighters' sundae-making contest, with a whipped cream fight guaranteed.

If you can, bring a new toy or stuffed animal with you. Oakland firefighters will distribute the donated items to children in need.

All month, 25 percent of the proceeds from each Rocky Road (Firefighters) Sundae will benefit the Random Acts program.
