What's Open, What's Closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Check out holiday hours and schedules for government offices, schools and public transit for Monday, Jan. 20
Here's a look at at what will be open and closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20.
City of Piedmont and City of Oakland: Administrative offices and most -non-emergency services are closed. Monday is an Oakland parking meter holiday.
Oakland Public Library: All library locations will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20. The Main Library and the Brookfield, Eastmont, Golden Gate and Piedmont Avenue Branches will be open on Tuesday, Jan. 21. All other branches will be closed.
Piedmont Unified School District and Oakland Unified School District: Schools and administrative offices closed.
Garbage service (Piedmont and Oakland): Regular schedule.
Alameda County, state and federal offices: Administrative offices are closed.
BART: BART will operate on a Saturday schedule starting at 6 a.m. with a few additional trains on some lines. See details here.
AC Transit: All AC Transit local and transbay lines will operate on Sunday schedules in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. To check Sunday schedules, see the AC Transit Maps and Schedules web page. (Note: Due to system maintenance, AC Transit’s website, actransit.org, will not be available from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 20. During this downtime, visit transit.511.org for AC Transit schedule and routing information. Real-time departures and NextBus will not be available.)
SF Bay Ferry: San Francisco Bay Ferry will provide normal weekday service.
