Weekend Things: Bird Houses, Japan Relief, and Walking Tours

This weekend's activities include art and music by Piedmont High students and historical walking tours in Piedmont's backyard.

FRIDAY 


If you missed the , you can still check out Piedmont High School's end-of-year art show at the school's library until June 3. The show includes paintings, collages, sculpted work and other mediums.

When: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (library hours)

The Piedmont High School quartet and the Troubadours will play a concert to raise funds for earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. All proceeds will go to the Japanese Red Cross.

If you're lucky enough to get to PAINTS' annual Bird House Gala, you can look forward to a beautiful garden, great food and wine and a silent auction–all to benefit art programs in the Piedmont schools.

SATURDAY


Watch FC Barcelona play Manchester United in the final of the UEFA Champions League final game in the friendly company of other fans, good food and good beer.

The latest tour at Mountain View Cemetery will be led by docent Ron Bachman, a retired physician who will delve into the history of physicians associated with the cemetery–some who were saints, some scoundrels.
